My series of fabric collages is called Rage Into Ravens. It is my response to current events. There's a lot happening that provokes an angry or fearful response in me. However, I find anger and even fear to be useful tools. The key is to make the choice to use the energy that accompanies anger, rage, and fear for positive action. If you can harness the raw energy of negative emotions, you can use that same energy to be a force for goodness, kindness and truth. Evil survives in a vacuum. When you become a shining light, darkness doesn't stand a chance.

Each collage is made with hand-painted fabric pieces, in combinations of  silk, rayon and cotton.There are also some pieces of found fabric included. Over my many years of creating hand-dyed fabric creations, I have always saved the leftover scraps, even the very tiny ones. For this series, I have adhered these pieces to fusible backing and then sewn them onto a background, where they are quilted onto the finished piece.  Some pieces have upcycled rice paper wedding programs embellished with gold ink. Each piece in the series is 23” wide x 30” high.
